Ans. Arthur Rimbaud has mocked war by depicting the sad condition of the young dead soldier. The soldier is lying in a cold sleep in a sunlit valley. Mother nature provides care and comfort to the soldier. His feet are on the herbs. He is provided a pillow made of fern. The young soldier lies open-mouthed. He has a smile on his face which is like that of an infant gentle and without trick. The poet also says that the humming insects don't disturb his rest as he is sleeping peacefully, one hand on his breast. But to everybody's shock, two red holes on his side give the evidence of his death. According to the poet war is nothing but an organised butchery of youth. War does not bring any progress to the civilization. In this way the poet has presented the hollowness and futility of war.

"Ah! Nature, Keep him warm". -Who is 'him'? Why does the poet ask nature to keep him warm? What irony is hidden here?
